Winner Profile This is the first notable tournament played on a new course. It looks like distance and a strong approach game are key. The course has a lot of sand and waste areas that make it similar to Australian sandbelt courses so perhaps an angle there.
Tyrell Hatton: Elite-level Englishman who ranks 11th in Strokes Gained: Approach and 16th in Par 4 Scoring. Ranks Top 10 in the field in Par 4 Scoring, Strokes Gained: Approach, Strokes Gained: Off The Tee and Bogey Avoidance. Won in Abu Dhabi in January and has seven Top 22 finishes in 10 starts since.
Alex Noren: Swede on the comeback trail who ranks Top 20 in Sand Saves. Finished Top 20 in the last two RSM Classics while he finished T-12 in the Genesis this season. Recent form is good with four Top 25 finishes in his last five starts.
Garrick Higgo: South African who is becoming a rising star on the European Tour. Already has three wins in his first 30 starts and made the cut on his PGA Tour debut. Ranks 4th on the European Tour in Strokes Gained: Approach. Already a Top 55 player in the world.
Luke List: Ranks 7th in Driving Distance and 8th in Strokes Gained: Approach. Finished 8th in the 2020 Corales. Two Top 10 finishes on Tour this year.
Ben Martin ($81): Ranks 13th in Scrambling and 14th in Bogey Avoidance. Finished Top 10 in the Corales this year and was Top 20 in the 2017 Wells Fargo. Two Top 11 finishes in his last six starts.
James Hahn: Form is a concern but profiles well. Ranks 1st in Par 4 Scoring and 13th in Bogey Avoidance. Finished Top 15 in the last two Genesis’ and in the 2020 Corales. Lack of distance is the only worry with his profile but looks over the odds.
Hank Lebioda: Ranks 6th in Scrambling and 16th in Bogey Avoidance. Finished 21st in the 2020 Corales. Ranks Top 10 in the field in GIR and Strokes Gained: Approach. Finished Top 17 in two of his last three starts.
Tyler McCumber: Form at the Fazio designed Corrales the key here. Has back-to-back Top 20s there including a 2nd in 2020. Ranks 16th in Driving Distance. Did finish T-22 at The Players and has Top 35 finishes in three of his last six PGA Tour starts.
Mark Anderson: Ranks 7th in Bogey Avoidance and 16th in Greens In Regulation. Good form on the correlation courses with Top 25 finishes in the 2017 Wells Fargo and the 2020 Sony Open. Comes off a Korn Ferry Tour Top 10.
